A Promotional Poster entitled "In Celebration of Maurice Sendak," portraying various famous characters created and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. Ashton rare Books welcomes direct contact. A very scarce title with the original wrapper. Kauffer points out 'the modern Poster is still in its adolescence,' and he also notes with examples, bad painters design bad posters, and good painters have always produced good posters. The book is profusely illustrated in black and white and colour, most are full-paged, many printed recto only. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. There is some reinforcement tape to the verso of the spine ends and upper edges which does not show through to the front. The scarce paper WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. Light toning to the text block and page edges with mild offsetting to the end papers. The spine blue colouring remains bright and unfaded. The paper labels to the spine and front cover remain very clean and intact. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition with some pushing at the spine ends and some mild bumping and rubbing to the corners. There was also a special edition issued at the same time which was signed by the author. The First UK printing published by Cecil Palmer in 1924.
